Elio Sandri farms 7. 5 hectares at Cascina Disa in Monforte d'Alba's Perno cru and makes wine the way his neighbors' grandfathers did: cement fermentation, long aging in big Slavonian botti, no fining, no filtration, sulfur only at bottling. 2018 was a cooler, more classically proportioned year in Barolo, and the Riserva shows it, perfumed and red fruited where the
